AMD: recognising vision that becomes distorted

1 · The Amsler grid

Amsler grid, straight in normal vision and wavy in vision with AMD. A grid of regular straight lines with a central dot. In normal vision the lines are perfectly straight. In vision with AMD, the lines become wavy towards the centre and a central area fades.
Look at the central dot: the lines appear straight.The lines appear wavy, or a blurred patch appears near the centre.

2 · Two forms of AMD
