Cataract: what the patient sees

With a clear crystalline lens, the scene is sharp and contrasted. At the intermediate stage, the image becomes slightly clouded, halos appear around the lights and colours turn yellow. At the advanced stage, the image is blurred, clouded with yellow, glare is marked and contrast collapses.

Advanced stage: vision clouds over, glare is troublesome in the evening and contrast drops.
