Reasons to consult in Paris 5th
Refractive surgery
Correction of myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia with LASIK, PKR, SMILE or a phakic implant. The preoperative work-up, including corneal topography, can be carried out at the center. Laser procedures take place at the Clinique Laser Victor Hugo (Paris 16th); the phakic implant, at the Clinique Sainte-Geneviève (Paris 14th).
Cataract surgery
Consultation, biometry and choice of implant (monofocal, EDOF, multifocal, toric) based on your visual needs. The procedure is performed at the Clinique Sainte-Geneviève (Paris 14th).
Retina and diabetes
Screening and monitoring of diabetic retinopathy, macular edema and other retinal conditions. The center has a retinal camera, OCT and angiography on site.
Vision check-up
A complete eye exam: refraction, slit-lamp examination, eye pressure, fundus exam and, when indicated, OCT. For all patients, whether or not surgery is planned.
Chalazion. Treatment is medical first; when an incision and curettage is needed, it can be performed at the centre under local anaesthetic.
Access and neighborhoods served
The center is located at 4 rue Domat, 75005 Paris, between boulevard Saint-Germain and the Seine, a few minutes’ walk from the Sorbonne, Saint-Michel and Notre-Dame. It is served by the Maubert-Mutualité and Cluny-La Sorbonne metro stations (line 10), Saint-Michel (line 4), the Saint-Michel Notre-Dame RER station (RER B and C), and by bus lines 47, 63, 86 and 87. The center is on the ground floor, accessible to people with reduced mobility.
RER B links Saint-Michel directly to Arcueil-Cachan: patients followed in Cachan can therefore consult in Paris 5th without changing trains, and vice versa. The center is also easy to reach from the 4th, 6th and 13th arrondissements.
What to expect during your consultation
On your first visit, Dr Tourabaly will take a full medical history, then carry out an examination tailored to your reason for consulting: refraction, slit-lamp examination, eye pressure measurement and, when indicated, a fundus exam, OCT or corneal topography. Please remember to bring your carte Vitale, your mutuelle insurance card, your current glasses or contact lenses and any previous reports. For a preoperative refractive surgery work-up, you will need to stop wearing contact lenses beforehand — the details will be explained when you book your appointment.
Other consultation locations
Dr Tourabaly also consults at his practice in Cachan (94) and at Diabet’ Paris 13. Your file follows you from one location to another: you can book wherever the date and commute are most convenient for you.
